Optoma has unveiled a new home entertainment smart 4K projector, the UHD55, priced at $1,799 and available now. Targeted for both day- and night-time viewing, the HDR and HLG compatible unit features 3,600 lumens of brightness and a claimed 1,200,000:1 contrast ratio. The UHD55 can produce 97% of DCI-P3 color space coverage with the use of an in-built wide color gamut mode (with shutter enabled).
Optoma says the projector is also primed for gamers via a built-in enhanced gaming mode for a response time of 16ms in 4K at 60Hz and 4ms in 1080p at 240Hz. Technologies for smart home integration include Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility. With a “sleek and compact” design, the UHD55 also enables button-touch content sharing with the creative cast app for wireless image display from up to four devices.
