I bought a replacement lamp for my optoma hd80 a few months ago and the picture quality has been terrible. lots of hot spots, contrast way off etc...So I need a new lamp. B&H photo has a replacement lamp for 400.00! Pureland supply has the same model number lamp at 186.70. I need help understanding the diffence, if any. (I understand the difference in price by the way), so, I don't want to buy an inferior lamp again. BL-FS300B FOR OPLEP910 Please help!!

One is selling a Optoma branded product the other is selling a 3rd party "optoma capatible" lamp. the 3rd party lamp may or may not come with housing. For lamps: always buy Manufacturer branded product.

Thank you for the advice. It is a lesson learned...an expensive one.

Alot of times those "cheapo" branded lamps just plain don't work. There is a reason one is $400 and the other isn't.
