optical to coax converter is there such a thing? (1 Viewer)

My sony mini system only has digital coax inputs not optical but everything these days is going optical...dvd players, xbox etc all use optical...is there any device that converts optical to coax...thank-you

I have definitely seen these before. I have used Sima brand before but they were kind of expensive. You might want to try www.partsexpress.com also

You can get them at Radio Shack. Optical to Coax or Coax to Optical. I think they are around the $30-$50 range.

Go to www.mcmelectronics.com and search for product number 24-4445 it is an optical to coax converter (toslink to sp-dif) for about $15. Number 24-4440 is the reverse direction, both need power supply 24-4451 (6v 240mA).
