I don't want to start another long debate about panasonic dvd players etc but I did want to update everyone about my 18 month old A320 that had problems. I heard back from the repair shop and they confirmed that it was in fact the optics and that the repair bill would be $290 cdn (~$200 USD)...I'm currently trying to talk to Panasonic Canada but so far they haven't done anything for me.

Was it the same optic assembly problem that commonly occurred in the A110/A310, or did they not say?

Kevin I've been told that the A320 doesn't use the same optics the A310 did but it was the optics that failed so your guess is as good as mine. All I know is I'm going to buy a new player and it won't be a panasonic

How times change. I know at one point Andrew was one of the biggest proponents of the Panasonic A320

John had it not being for the laser failure I'd still be saying its a great buy. IMO it still has (had) a great image and great features.
