My brother is updating his whole system and found a deal on this setup:

Receiver: Denon AVR 1604
Fronts: 2 Klipsch RF-15
Center: Klipsch RC-25
Surrounds: 2 Klipsch RS-25
Sub: Klipsch RW-10

Package price: $1700


I know a lot of people like the SVS subs, but I don't know if he can get the package sans sub for cheaper.

How does this setup seem to you?
Would he be better served with a different package?

He has listened to them and likes their sound - but he does not have many places to try out others of similar quality.

Thanks for any advice.

If he likes the sound, then it's a good deal. You mentioned SVS, and yes, the sub is probably the biggest weak point in that system, but it's still a good system for the money, and he can always upgrade in the future. Heck, if all of us bought the perfect system the first time through, most of us on these boards would have a lot more money in the bank.
