I just bought a used SU-X302. It appear to be a 30W/c and it says New Class A on the front.

    Any info is appreciated!

Sounds like some of their older, early-to-mid 80s gear. Good stuff!

What's their new stuff like? It's inexpensive, but they did all right by Consumer Reports magazine (take that as you will, but CR rated the Onkyo 696 tops among models tested, which, given the models tested, I would agree with).

Technics, IMHO, are like a Sony. You can pick a few out that are good every once and awhile.

Yet I don't know your model, sorry!

The '80s amp you bought is different than recent Technics amps. The important thing is does it do what you need it to do without any problems. Few members of this forum ever had one of these "new Class A" amps and I think you have heard from those that do. After you have used it for 3 months you can give us an update.

I've owned a Technics SU-V76 New Class A amp since 1988. It's made in Japan, very good, no problems at all.

I'm using a pair of Technics preamp + power amp setup. The preamp is the SU-9011 and the power amp is the SE-9021. The finish has corroded a bit, and the volume control makes a kinda crackling noise, but it still runs fine.
