    hi all -

just looking for general opinions on one. i'm looking at a 2003 xls.

the dealer offered it to me at about 30k, with 0% financing for the life of the loan. i checked edmunds and it falls pretty much right in line. [IMG]

    thx,

My brother inlaw have the 2000 Montero and he's bitching about the maintenance cuz it's too damn expensive. I think its the tune up that is expensive about $200+ at the dealer. But it's a nice and reliable it's just too much just to get it tuned up.

I have a 2001 3.5XS. The only thing I really dislike about it is the low roofline; I'm constantly thwacking my head on it.

Hasn't had a tuneup yet, so I can't comment on the cost of that.

I have a 98 which I have been pretty happy with. I concur with Julian about the low roofline. Even after 5 years of ownership I still occasionly forget to duck.

Probably would not buy another one considering what else is out there.
