I'm new to the forum but have found a lot of useful information!

I'm updating equipment and am looking to stay fairly moderate. 18x 16 ft room with 10' ceilings.

I just purchased an LG5270 LCD TV and was just about to purchase the receiver and speakers and thought I would poll your thoughts on the units.

Onkyo 806 paired with Energy 5.1 Take Classic speakers.

Amazon.com has pretty good pricing (about $1200 for both items) on both and if anyone has any feedback on buying thru them please comment.

I can't comment on any of those particular items since I don't own them, but I've been using Amazon for years, be it for small things like books and DVDs, as well as larger/more expensive/high tech items like external hard drives, DVD players, etc., and I've never had a problem. If you like the prices they're offering, you can feel comfortable ordering from there. Actually, I just ordered my first ever Blu-Ray player from them about 10 minutes ago.

Anyone else have any imput on the Onkyo unit or the Energy speakers??

Ditto on Amazon. They've been great for me and the few times I've had to return or exchange the service was excellent. As far as that system, many people here own and like Energy speakers and the Onkyo is considered one of the best bargains in receivers . I own last years model of the 606 and it's been problem free for over a year. You certainly could do worse for $1200.
