    TV - Sony 53HS30
    Receiver - Denon 2802
Speakers - HTD Level 3 tower
DVD - not decided yet - Do you think I need progressive scan?
I am preety new to this but after a bunch of research, here are my current choices. Any comments good or bad would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Doug

I would recommend progressive scan, although it looks like the sony does 3:2 pulldown, and is probably doing a pretty good job converting to 480p already. From what I have read, progressive scan players generally produce better 480p picture than most sets internal line doublers. And with progressive scan dvd players getting so affordable now, why not.
The rest of your system is great. Any thoughts on adding a subwoofer. Check out SVS, they make great subs (as you probably have noticed by all the posts on this forum about SVS).

The HTD level 3 package comes with a sub woofer. I also went to Sears today to take another look at TV's. They had more on display then before. Seems like there are a lot more Sony's in the 36"-43" range that are also HDTV ready. For example, the 36FVHS30. Whew, its hard to know which way to go on the TV.
