This movie isn't quite for everyone, but it's a nice break if you're getting sick of American/Hollywood movies and their associated conventions. It's a fun little fantasy romp. One word of warning though: traditional Japanese theater involves a certain amount of overwrought melodrama and the main actor in this movie was a big star in traditional theater. You can pretty much guess what that results in. Note: Onmyoji is loosely based on really old and much beloved Japanese fairy tales.
