Hi,

I have Time Warner Cable in Orange County CA. I also have their HD package. Whenever Monday Night Football is on ABC HD, the picture gets out of focus for every 30 second or so. This only happens on Monday Night Football on ABC HD. All of the rest of the channels comes out fine.

Have anyone else experienced this problem before?

That's odd. I've got TWC here in WI and I will occasionally lose audio or picture due to a hiccup in the signal or weakness.

By "blurry" do you mean a pixelated, blocky picture? I've noticed with my TWC signal, if there's alot of detail and quick motion (ie: quick panning of football audience during a play) the picture will pixelate somewhat. I believe this is due to video compression from the cable company.

However, since I've rewired my cable connection and used a 900MHz splitter for my set, there's been a big improvement. Is it possible you've got a split running to your set with a lower-throughput splitter? Also make sure you're using quality component cables for your connection to the set.

Also, I don't know if this is the case so much this year as it was last year, but not all of the cameras on field were HD cameras. Blimp shots, replay cameras, and wirecam shots were in standard definition. The difference was very noticable when they would switch back and forth.

If none of the above apply, I'd have the friendly folks at TWC () take a look at your signal.

I've got Adelphia and often get pixelation on Fox (KTTVHD)football...ABC is stunning. Go figure. I've concluded that it's nothing in house so it must have to do with signal steength from the cable company. Everything but Fox football is 100%...even on other Fox broadcasts.

When they show stats of the game or the right or left hand score of the game, that gets very burry too. It only happens with MNF. When Fox, CBS and ESPN shows their games in HD, the picture is perfect. It only happens with MNF and none of the other shows on ABC HD.

I don't get it.

I do...:)

What you area discribing is a switch to a regular NTSC camera feed. This is sometimes done when showing pic in pic, stats, or ticker tape updates. Then they show the same image on their analog and HD feeds.

ABC must be aware of the problem. Its eye hurting to watch MNF in HD. I much rather watch the SD feed instead.

Is there a consumer complaint going on somewhere?

The blurriness is the SD feed, just on the HD channel. Not all ameras used have been upgraded to HD yet, especially the handhelds.

Then what are the other networks doing that ABC HD is not with their NFL feed?
