For all of you people waiting here`s the Onkyo TX-SR800 7.1 receiver! From now until 3/2/03 at 11:59pm Pacific, you can get this THX Select certified receiver for $736.33, with 3rd day FedEx shipping coming in at a very reasonable $22.40. There`s absolutely nowhere to get this receiver cheaper, not even those gray market places (and this one is full retail boxed and carries Onkyo`s full warranty). You get Dolby Digital EX, THX Surround EX, DTS-ES6.1 discrete & matrix, DTS-Neo:6, DTS 96/24, and Dolby Pro Logic II. It has Linear PCM 192 kHz/24-bit D/A converters for each channel. The amplifier is a full 7 channels spec`d at 100w/channel at 8 ohm.

Question as to whether this receiver is afflicted with the reported wattage drop when all channels are running -- as someone confirmed via lab test with the Onkyo 600 (or so they said).

Purportedly the 600 and the 700 went down to 40 watts or lower with all 7 channels going. Does that happen with the 800?
