I have a bed room thats the size of a two car garage will this reciver be enough? I currently have an old Sony 545 thats dying on me. The Sony is 100 watts per channel & the Onkyo only 65. I really only watch DVDs & Direct TV. Thanx

Sony probably exaggerates its output claims. Onkyo, on the other hand...

65 Watts per channel, measured with a 1 kHz tone, with 6 ohm impedence, with 5% THD.

It sure sounds as if Onkyo is tweaking all the test conditions in a desperate effort to achieve 65 watts per channel. Perhaps you'd be better off with another model...

I have a pair of those same speakers which I tend to float around a bit. I found that the speakers performed quite well with a Panasonic XR55 receiver. I set the treble to -4 and the bass was left at "0". The sound was quite good.

The Panasonic XR55 receiver is 100 W/channel. The Onkyo is maybe 40W into 8 ohm loads. Some report that a hissing sound is audible even at low volumes.
