Hello All!

I wonder if someone out there can help me with this problem I am having with the above mentioned Home Theater System. I have noticed lately that the system does not 'remember' the speaker settings, volumes, bass levels, treble, etc. from the last time the system was used. I use this system with all of my equipment. This includes: satellite receiver, DVD player, Xbox and VCR. Is there a way to set default levels with individual pieces of equipment? Like if I want the front left channel's volume to default at level 3, the center to be at 5, so on and so forth for whenever I watch the SATELLITE source. Same thing with the DVD player, since I like my movies louder than the regular TV. Even if I cannot have separate defaults for individual pieces of equipment, I would at least like to have a default level for everything that I choose every time I turn the system 'ON'.

Can someone who has this system, or another Onkyo that is similar, help me out?

Thanks!

Neil, I have a similar Onkyo receiver. Although, a few models up from what is packaged in the 5.1 package. Even my 6.1 receiver doesn't remember manual changes to the separate channels. Every time I go to standby and back, I must manually adjust my levels from O, if desired. Personally, I must adjust my surround left(+5), right(+5) and rear(+8) because my diagonal set-up has set those three channels a bit farther than desired. All 6.1 channels default to 0 when it has been shut-off.

Is this what you're referring to?

Zen,

This is close to what I am talking about. My does not reset to zero though. It is stuck at a setting I implemented over a month ago when I watched a DVD. Maybe whatever volume and settings I have are defaulted by use of the DVD channel. I'm not sure.
