hi i just rehooked up my dvd after having it cleaned,and i also disconnected a digital box and replaced it with a sat. dish.i made the change in the rec. so that it plays 5.1 from the sat. but now i cannot get sound thur the dvd what have i done wrong. i have spent hours reading the manuel and trying different settings, i am very frustrated as i no it has to be some thing simple BUT WHAT any help please.:b

Steven there are few things you can try. Have you tried changing the audio input for the DVD. I had a similar problem with my Sat dish and DVD player.

The other question is how to you have them hooked up? Thru Coax? or Fiber?

Plus, what sat dish system to you have?

found the problem--optical cable stopped working.replaced it with coaxal and the sound is back.thx for your replys
