New at this HT stuff so bear with me... :)

I'm moving into a new house and setting up a dedicated home
theater. I've decided to go with a 7.1 setup with
Ascend 340 for the fronts and center, Ascend 170 for
the 4 surrounds, and an SVS 20-39 PCi Sub.

Room will be approximately 15x18. Trying to decide between
the Onkyo 702 or the Denon 2805. Will do about 80%HT and
20% music (want to venture into SACD/DVD-AUDIO).

I'm most interested in comments about these 2 receivers
driving the speakers/sub I've chosen. Anyone have a
    setup like this?

Alternatively, if it will make that much difference I
could go up to the Denon 3805, but I'd rather keep the
    price in the $500-$750 range.

Both the Onkyo and the Denon are fine Recievers. Is one of them THX certified I would go with that one. If they both are then one or the other is a great machine. Myself I like Denon. My Denon power amp and pre amp have been real gems. Going on 16 years old and still as good as you can get.
