Onkyo 600 Problems (1 Viewer)

I recently bought a refurbed Onkyo TX-SR600. For a newbie into the home theater system game it meets my needs wonderfully . I'm experiencing a problem though, after about an hour of watching a DVD in Dolby Digital the sound starts to cut out and I have to go to my video 2 source which is not 5.1 . Any similar experiences or familiarity with this problem? I'm going to take it into the shop and would like to explain the problem to the shop owners with more detail(i.e. what was done with other units).

Do you have it set to auto select? I know there was some problems with these units...things like DDES,
I had a problem with mine in one movie where it made a loud pop during a certain scene...I think the movie was "The Others". It went back to the store...too bad I liked it but not enough to try another one.
Is it losing the signal on the layer transfer or just here and there?
