Im looking at these three Onkyo recievers and need help diferentiating between features. I realise the 595 has DPL II which sounds like a great feature, however is it worth an extra $300? (these are in Aust $)
I've narrowed down my search between an Onkyo or a Yamaha.
    Onkyo TX DS595 $1299
    Onkyo TX DS575x $999
    Onkyo TX DS494 $849
    Yamaha RXV420 $520 - second hand
    Yamaha RXV620 $1299
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm from Australia too! [IMG]
Just made this choice a month ago
I went for a RX-V520 ($899) instead of the others. Newer model than the Onkyo for the same price, has got 5-channel stereo and sounded great. Go for what sounds the best to YOU! and make sure you listen to a large range. The new denons are coming out in a month or so, they also might be worth a look! Not sure if the 494 has S-Vid either.

    I am also from AUSTRALIA!
    I purchased a Onkyo 696 for $1470. The price I had on the 595 was $950!
    So shop around.
    Love the 696 big time.

Great to see a few other Aussies here... I've only just found this forum and it has convinced me to upgrade from my pro logic reciever.
Wayne, Where abouts did you get THAT price for the 595? I've checked JB HI-FI which I thought was relitavely cheap, and they were $1299. After spending the last week reading the reviews and opinions here, I'm leaning towards that model.
