An August release date didn't keep BASTERDS from eight Oscar nominations and a win. But in boxoffice terms August has been losing steam for years; maybe this will overcome that.
His best stuff has been on TV (he was great as the lead on Halt And Catch Fire and he had a pivotal & funny role in the most recent season of Fargo) and he has a small role in Gone Girl as Amy's ex-boyfriend. In short, he's good and I can see why QT wants him.
Like I said, it's a small role but David Fincher gets good actors even for the small stuff (like Roonie Mara in that scene at the beginning of The Social Network).
Agree, I'd put it somewhere between Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction, and what came after those, I haven't really cared for, although I tried. Kill Bill was overlong, as was Django, but this one, it looks promising, with that cast list.
Man, when she was young, she had a very sexy voice and wasn't bad to look at either.
