Hi, I have a Sound Blaster PCI 512 sound card and was wondering would this be better then my onboard sound card VIA P4PB 400 - AC 97 sound.

The 512 does have EAX and a new game I had bought supports this feature was just wondering if it would be worth the effort of installing or should I just get a better sound card after the holidays?? THNX [IMG]

onboard sound slows down your games if you play any. I would notice a 20-30fps drop when the game made loud sounds using the onboard card on my Asus P4PE. It stopped when I slappedd in an M-Audio Revolution and turned the onboard sound off in the bios.

THNX Scott I didnt know that, no more onboard sound cards for me. I'll have to see if there's a noticable difference in my games!! I put in the PCI 512 card and all is well [IMG]
