    Home Theater Users,

Do you usually use your home theater on your own, or with someone else? What's the biggest number of people you've watched something with?

Mostly by myself. But when somebody comes over I'll watch a movie if they want to. Most of the time though this turns out to be a mistake. All the questions Whats gonna happen next? why did that happen? its annoying. the most people I have ever had watch a movie is 6.

Most of the time by myself.

A couple of weeks ago I watched POTA with my wife, aunt, uncle and cousin. I was fearful of the outcome but it was very enjoyable. The only interuptions were my uncle mumbling this is f'ing bad ass. They were going to watch it on VHS but I told them that they don't come to town and watch movies at my mom's on VHS. They left very glad that they chose to watch it with the twins(SVS) and I.

    Usually by myself.
To be honest, it depends on the kind of movie; if it's a comedy or action/adventure flick, chances are I'll be watching it with other people in the room.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. [IMG]

With company, I hate the awkawrd feeling when there's a layer switch...I mean do you acknowledge it for J6P or what? It's sucky.

Many thanks for the replies - I didn't expect so many. This is a very informative board.

It looks like for many, HTs are quite the one bug cocoon, and company is allowed in on sufferance. I can relate to that.

    Greetings to you, Kevin.

Welcome, Rod! We're generally a nice bunch of people around here, just stay away from that Steve Christou chap and you should be fine. [IMG]
The most people who have ever watched a movie on my home theater was six.
Usually, it's just two: my wife and I.

I'd love to be blissfully alone sometimes when I watch a new film, but 'she who must be obeyed' is nearly always with me, puffing smoke in my face, switching channels during an exciting bit of the film, nattering on about something or other, and I may suddenly find myself arguing about the crisis in Afghanistan when all I wanted to do was watch the bleedin' movie, sniff sniff, I don't want to live! I don't want to live!, Mummy!! Evil Hand down boy down!
Friends pop in occasionally and I get a chance to discuss the latest movies with real film fans, which makes a nice change from working out the whereabouts of Bin Laden on a large map of Afghanistan on the wall.[IMG]
ps. Some of the above may be fiction.
pps. Oh yeah watch out for that Christou chap, brrrr...

99% of the time I'm the only one watching the movie, though maybe 30% of the time my wife will be in the room either reading a book (irritating since I have to leave a light on) or sleeping.

6 is the most I've ever had watching a movie.

I enjoy watching movies with friends/family more so than watching them alone.

I usually watch with me, myself, and I!! I actually prefer to watch my DVD's by myself, it is my escape! Besides my wife doesn't really like to watch movies in the HT room, she doesn't like it dark [IMG]
    90% by myself
    9% with wife and kids
    1% with company
The most viewers I've had in my small HT room is 6.
My living room HT(such as it is) I've had maybe 10 viewers at once.

Usually, I watch movies with my girlfriend. When I'm alone, I tend to listen to music more.

The most people I've ever had over for a movie was 10. Before I moved from New Jersey earlier in the year, I had an occasional "Movie Night" at my place where I invited friends from my last job. I enjoyed that. For most of them, it was their first experience with home theater, so I enjoyed their reaction to surround sound.

Usually it's just my wife and I. Sometimes we'll have another couple over and one time we had about 12 people in the NeoBijou....way too crowded!

I'm extremely anal when it comes to watching movies, so I normally only watch alone. But, I've found myself watching movies a lot with my girlfriend lately. We enjoy a lot of the same movies, she has a great appreciation for film in general, and she knows when to shut the hell up [IMG]
