On screen menus while using progressive or HDTV components? (1 Viewer)

I'm looking to replace my reciever. I'm leaning towards the Harmon Kardon AVR 635. From looking at the manuel, it appears that you loose all your on screen menu info if your source is progressive scan or HiDef. Is this a common limitation? Are there other recievers in the $700 range that don't do this?

Only a HK deficency. Most people find the upper end HKs to be very confusing to use. Onkyo and Marantz are IMO better choices. Take it from a guy that grew up in Rexburg. . .

Thanks. Farrs in Idaho Falls is offering me an Onkyo TX-SR803 for $850. I don't need HDMI switching but it never hurts to have it right? Do you think I should get it instead?
