The sports writers were talking earlier about how Mickelson is messing with his game and complicating the game by working with Pelz. Now he's atop the leader board. Shows how much they know! [IMG]

It figures since I have tickets to my first ever golf tournament for tomorrow's third round and I won't get to see Tiger play.

Looks like he only needs to make up two strokes with 12 to play. He should make it.

Edit: Opps, he dropped another stroke but still looks like he only needs to make up three strokes with nine to play.

Phil still has two more rounds yet where he can screw up. [IMG]

Considering how well Tiger's played in this year's other majors (2 wins and a 2nd place), his struggles so far in the PGA are a real surprise. He's never missed the cut in a major since turning professional. This will certainly provide some drama to TNT's coverage while I'm eating dinner.

He needs to birdie 18 to get to +4 and make the cut.
    [IMG] He bogeyed it yesterday.

    Got it!
    Makes the cut at +4.

Ok, so the final groups get to play again tomorrow. Advantage or disadvantage?

Advantage: may get some rest, coachnig, can view footage on how the holes played today, morning dew will soften up the greens

Disadvantage: awful weather, lack of time to warm up to get in a groove, may not sleep with this hangnig over there heads.

    It's a toss up!

If it rains tonight it should be an advantage since it will soften up the greens.

I think it's an advantage to play the next morning. Everyone was struggling on hard, fast greens yesterday afternoon. Now, each player can regroup, plus the greens will be softer in the morning.

Tiger saw his slim chances of getting into a playoff go bye-bye when play was postponed late yesterday.

I had an enjoyable time at the PGA although the heat on Saturday was oppressive. Got to see Tiger play 16 and 17 and the throngs of people watching him play was incredible and you could barely see him.

Spent much of the day right near the 14th green, under a tree and near a scoreboard.

I really don't get this sentiment, that Phil is some sort of choke artist or disaster waiting to happen. Yes, he wore the title of greatest without a major for far too long, but not because of Jean Van de Velde-like disasters. While his aggressive play didn't always serve him well, his short-comings were more often than not the result of another golfer, such as the late Payne Stewart, making an improbable shot.

Twice now, while playing in the final group, Phil Mickelson has come to the 72nd hole of a major championship needing birdie to win the tournament. Both times he has pulled it off. 100% when it really counts. Not bad.

Oh, and Jim McCabe is an idiot.
