Commodore 64 fans will surely recognize the name 'Zzap! 64'. During its hey-day in the '80s it was the best selling single format games magazine in the world, covering the booming 8-bit machine and the fun and original games it hosted. Many big name games industry figures started their careers there including Julian "IGN" Rignall, Steve "Edge Magazine" Jarratt, Gary "Denki" Penn and Paul "Airblade, Burnout" Glancey. Now, thanks to a powerful C64 emulation scene and the magic of the Internet, Zzap! 64 is back for one more issue. Put together by GA's very own Gazunta, it reviews the latest C64 games (yes, they're still making them), takes a look at new hardware developments (including C64's surfing the internet and hard drive add-ons) and takes a look back at the best games to have graced the platform. It's available as a free download from http://www.zzap64.co.uk and is a great read for long-time C64 fans and those in dire need of a history lesson. Regular Zzap! 64 staff members even contributed to the project, including previous editor Gordon Houghton who served as this special issue's editor. Go check it out!
