I recently purchased Clear and Present Danger and it would not play. I figured it was a bad disc and was about to return it for another one but the store was out. In the meantime, I bought Iron Monkey and that too would not play. I tested both on my PC DVD ROM and they BOTH WORK! Now I don't know what to do. I get an error message that no disc is in the unit.

My player is a Panasonic DVD-A300. It's old, like around 6 years. It has always played flawlessly and I have never ever had a problem with a clean disc. I have about 230 DVDs that have been watched on average 2 to 3 times apiece, not to mention countless rents and borrows from friends. So it's been through many hours of viewing.

I recently purchased the Star Wars DVDs and those play fine. Any suggestions?

It's a bit hard to see what's happening with the information you provided.

I'm assuming these are legit discs you're using?
