Five years has made quite a difference in technology.
The internal electronics are far superior to sets made five years ago, and... you will now have a set that will display your DVD's alot better along with having a set that is HD capable. So when you finally take the HD plunge, you will be trully amazed!

The 51f510 isn't a bad tv at all. The benefits of the 510 over your tv are substantial.

-Widescreen (made for dvd's and HD)
    -HD ready
-Virtual HD (converts 480p to 1080i...theoreticaly)
    -Auto convergence
-Newer parts, bulbs, guns, speakers, etc
    -Smaller, lighter, easier to move
    - 1 inch bigger picture!!!! WOW [IMG]

Um, as you've perhaps surmised, you're getting an excellent deal here.
