I have a Toshiba 40x81 HDTV and I'm looking into getting a HTPC that can do progressive scan. I'm also looking to add a FPTV in the next year or so..
I don't want to spend a fortune on the HTPC but I don't want it stuttering through the movie.. What would you suggest?
Thanks for any advice that you can give me.

A Celeron or Duron 750 or better has plenty of horsepower. Beware VIA chipsets. Make sure you go with a Radeon LE and ATI Player (comes free with it.) Get a huge high quality power supply if you are going to be using a video capture card for dScaler. Get an old slow DVD player, if noise is a concern.
