Ok to put cable box on top of center speaker? (1 Viewer)

After pouring over the many threads in this forum (thanks to all for such great information) I finally took the plunge and purchased a home theater system. My question is will I compromise the effectiveness of the Paradigmn CC-370 center channel speaker by placing my cable box directly on top of it? Thanks.
