Ok Im still stuck on which receiver I want. Im looking at the Yamaha RXV-1400 or RXZ1. Im also looking at the HK-430 or 630???? Now is the power on all these units about the same? Also what is a major difference between the 430 and 630. I cant find anything but 10 watts. Well help me out guys, again thanks in advance.

yes, the lower power ratings that may be listed for the H/K's probably more than equal the Yamaha's.

The 440 is considered an entry level by the company.

The 640 seems like it is just a better all around unit.
Hard to say, your right the feature list is very close.

They make a point of telling you the 640 has very high quality DAC's though.

I'm banking the 640, has better performance especially when cranked loud.

Are you talking about the yamaha rxv-440 and rxv-640? Or the HK AVR-430 and AVR-630?

yes, the Yamaha's.. Both those H/K units are not what I would consider entry level at all. So probably not so much of a difference there as with the two Yamaha units.

Well I just wanted to let you guys know that I decided to pick up the RXV-1400 on saturday. It has everything I need and nothing I dont. Plus is has the same remote Im using now, dont ask. Plus the harman kardon I would have to order through accomadation and it would take a while and my wife wouldnt like being without a receiver for a while. So thats my choice. If anyone cares, next I will be buying a PB1-isd or a PB2-isd. [IMG]

Thanks again guys, also I appologize about making so many posts, I will only do one from now on.

Thanks for letting us know your purchase choice.

Come on back with a review of it once you get it installed and have some experiences with it.
