Look, there seems to be a real disconnect here with the nonHTF world, which is just now learning to think outside the box and to appreciate widescreen. Which means I think they'll realize how old school pan-and-scan is. That's the situation on the ground, I think. Having said that, I'll say no more.

Call me old fashioned, but I still like 'sheesh' at times. ;)

And yeah, "my bad" just makes me wanna GAG. Don't go there...

Jokes aside...

I really have begun to use "redic." for ridiculous after watching "The Lost Weekend" again recently. I actually like the sound of it.

Most slang doesn't bother me provided its not used in great amounts, especially as a substitute for saying anything of substance.

But "anywho"...that does grind on me. Too cutesy and it always was. It also strikes me as a snob-geek slang which also bugs me.

I don't watch much TV, but Buffy The Vampire Slayer was on the short list.

Liked it except for thinking - there's not a person on the show who can speak in sentences except for Spike and some villains.

I guess that's common for tv land. :frowning:

I'm going to try to work outdated slang into my conversations. That's the bee's knees.

I hate the constant use of "like." Aaaaarrrrrrrghhhh!

Will someone please shoot the home video executive who came up with the term "taking multiple bites at the apple".

"Dropped the ball." "At the end of the day." "All things being equal." Ugh.

I like to try to bring back phrases. Three Stooges for slang can't go wrong. It's so passe that it could actually be hip again.

"What are ya, a wise guy?"

Lay that on some co-workers and you'll turn some heads.
or...

"...I'll give 'em a knuckle sandwich."

Here's a great idea, everybody. Let's bring back SHAZBOT.

"That scared the shazbot out of me."

Or if you stub your toe, simply yell, "Shazbot!"
