Of the NES & SNES in Japan [IMG] Yup, even after all those years, Nintendo was still cranking out new NES & SNES machines for its home market.

It's too bad they weren't producing the top loading NES still. I really want one of those.

You mean I could have bought a brand spankin' new SNES last fall instead of the slightly scummy used one I got off ebay? Crap...

Thats pretty amazing they were still producing these things! I wonder why? The demand can't be very large for it.

What the fuck is an NES or SNES?

All I see are Nintendo's Famicom and Super Famicom in Japanese stores [IMG]

Wow... Considering how long the Famicom was around in Japan (1983, right?), it must have been in production for longer than the Atari 2600 - Atari's last game for the system was Secret Quest in 1989, only a measley 12 years after Combat. The Activision and Atari 10-in-1 units, from what I gather, don't actually use 2600 hardware.

Huh. I'd always thought the 2600 was the longest-lived system.

Speaking of the snes system, i got the bargain of a lifetime on a super nintendo in near mint condition ! At my local game crazy , the system with 2 controllers and a copy of mario allstars plus mario world for an amazing 24.99 , try to beat that ! The icing on the cake was mario all stars plus world came with instructions and box.[IMG] [IMG]
