I had posted a thread earlier this week stating that Goodguys.com had the new Sony 65" widescreen (65WV700) for $4000 shipped. And that Goodguys.com was giving onecall a run for their money.

Damn, forget that... Onecall.com has the unit for $3699 including curb to curb shipping. Whiteglove service is $80 standard + $90 for each flight of stairs.

If you want that price, ask for a guy named Brian.

I guess Onecall believes in the old sales motto... "We will not be beat, we refuse to be undersold"!

Anyone out there considering the purchase of Sony's new bad boy?

When I browse there, I see the 700 for $4499 and the 600 for $3799.

    Regards,
    Eric

    Eric,

You have to call them to get a price of $3699 for the 65WV700. Otherwise it's 4499 on the website.

    As for Brian @ Onecall.

I just saw the new 51" 16:9 Hitachi and it looked very good on HD material. But I'd rather go with a 53" or 57" if I could squeeze it in.

Has anyone been able to compare the WV600 against the new Hitachi's? I was considering the Sony 53HS30 and 57HW40 but their was considerable amount of glare/reflection off the screen protectors and the top of the TV was not as deep or possibly weak for holding my center speaker and two Sat receivers. Any comments on this for the new Sony's? I can get the 53HS30 for a great price and the PQ was very competitive to last years Hitachis, but after seeing the new Hitachi's I think I may just wait. But of course they are another $1K.
