Oh man, I wish I was only getting 3 DVDs Tuesday. I've got the following coming in from various e-tailers:
Apocalypse Now: Redux
Bad Taste LE (2 discs)
Billy Joel: The Essential Video Collection (2 discs)
Dirty Harry Collection (5 discs)
The Dogs of War
The Outlaw Josey Wales SE
Rebecca Criterion Collection (2 discs)
The Stunt Man LE (2 discs)
The World at War (5 discs)
Of course, I'll be picking up Planet of the Apes at Best Buy on Tuesday (gotta get those loss leaders locally).
I'm a very sick man...

Henry, have you tried selling blood? Works for me!

Actually, this week shouldn't be too bad for me. I'm just gonna rent PotA and AP:R (my local Hollywood Video has .99 rentals now). I've got the Bad Taste, Stunt Man, and Rebecca sets pre-ordered with 8 1/2 but those won't be coming until the end of the month. Hopefully, I can get away without buying any discs this week. Shoot! Forgot that I need to pick up the widescreen Wonka disc for my nephews...

I know what you mean, Henry. I won't be buying "Grinch" but I will be purchasing "Planet of the Apes," "Apocalypse Now," "Dirty Harry" box set and I still have to buy X-Files Season 4

Maybe I should start selling blood like Steve!

The Grinch is a definite rental - i mean i have the definitive animated version!
Planet of the Apes - possible buy. I have to see it first. I respect Tim Burton but I don't know about this one.
Apocalypse Now - DEFINITE MUST BUY. Phenomenal movie and along with the Godfather Collection and a future release of "The Conversation," I'd have every Coppola a movie worth owning. :)

Peter Cushing's Dr. Who debuts on DVD this Tuesday as well.
And the midnight movie madness continues with At The Earth's Core, People That Time Forgot, etc from MGM.

Patrick, The Conversation was released, with a commentary, by Paramount last December. You're set!

"Angry Red Planet?" Wow, I didn't realize it was getting a DVD release. I watched that movie once on AMC and it's so campy, I couldn't take my eyes off of it. I just may purchase the DVD!

I'm still working on getting DVD's from the last few weeks!
I'd like to get that Kino Buster Keaton box set (I need a silent movie fix soon...after seeing my VHS set of Hollywood)
I also want the 2 MST DVD's at any cost. (I thought you was Rockford!)

Here's what I WANT this Tuesday, for me and my family:

  • Billy Joel: The Essential Video Collection
Clifford the Big Red Dog: Clifford Saves the Day/Clifford's Fluffiest Friend Cleo
Dirty Harry Box Set - Clint Eastwood Collection, The
    Empire of the Ants
How the Grinch Stole Christmas - Collector's Edition
    Invasion U.S.A.
Planet Of The Apes - Special Edition
Planet Of The Apes: The Complete TV Series
    Sesame Street Elmo's World
    Strange Invaders
I'll probably get...nothing. Sigh. I'm told that Christmas is coming.
I'll probably pick up Elmo and Clifford for my son, and Grinch too if it's a can't-beat price. Nothing for my wife on this week's list, really, unless it's Grinch and PotA.
A definate "me" week, and I don't know if I'll even Dirty Harry.
frown.gif
I hope the missus at least picks DH up for me while it's on sale...Best Buy's sale price this coming week is rumored to be (take it with a grain of salt) something like 15-20% off their everyday price of $69.99! But only good Tues-Weds...which make wonder if it will be even better AFTER Thanksgiving! CC is going for $79.99 everyday, and no indication that Costco or Sam's will even carry it! I guess we'll know more on Sunday.
Sigh. I hope to get some of the above under the tree...

Luckily, I'm getting PotA free by rebate by purchasing my new DVD player. I'm buying Grinch and Matrix Revisited. I think MR is the greatest idea in DVD history! Screw the Matrix ULTIMATE EDITION! Just make it easier and release the new supplements!

I was told by my better half not to buy any more dvd's until after x-mas. Might just be a great holiday season this year. :)

Only thing I absolutely NEED on Tuesday is "The Stunt Man" Limited Edition. It's probably going to cost me almost $35.00, but no way I'm waiting for the slow mail. One of the regular retailers better have it in that day. I cannot wait to see this film again!
