I didn't realize it at the time, but David Drayton is Todd! from Boogie Nights (remember Wahlberg's friend with the porn mustache?) ..

At the beginning of "The Mist," Drayton is doing poster art for some upcoming film - looks like Frank Darabont is going to be giving us The Gunslinger, folks.

We're lead to believe that David Drayton gave us the poster for The Thing remake in the 80's, huh? I wonder how Darabont got the rights for that poster.

Easy, Drew Struzan who did that poster plus all the other's shown at the start of the movie, did the poster for The Mist. Darabont is a big fan of Struzan's work and the opening sequence is a tribute to his body of work.
