If you read the spoilers, we're talking about a scene that takes place in a porn convention. ;)

The film DOES HAVE nudity, just that it's brief (some t & a from a few various women) and it's not from Elisha.

Fox must like to re-cycle some of their TV actors. I spotted Olivia Wilde, the daughter from "Skin", and Tara from "Paradise Hotel" in the flick. I also noticed that David Daskill (Average Joe Hawaii) was one of the classmates.

Also, I didn't think it was Elisha's nekkid backside on display in the "peeping Tom" scene early in the film, that body was a little too long/tall in comparison to Elisha's.

Just got back... the theatre I went to was full. Of course, this is a college town and may not represent the nation as a whole ;)

The showing I went to wasn't even half full. :frowning: A true shame, because this is a damn good film. Elisha is her perfect self as always, and the film was very funny. Some great dilemmas throughout the film too, and I thought Elisha's porn producing friend, Kelly, was a pretty cool character. The lead was a little annoying I thought, but not too much.

The actor playing Eli reminds me of a young John Cusack for some reason. I found the film very funny and laughed hard more than a few times. The lead actress is definitely one good looking woman.

Since I'm originally from Fairfield County, Connecticut, I found it funny that two of the high schools in the film were named after two cities from my neck of the woods, Westport and Fairfield. After looking up Luke Greenfield's background, I see the connection now, since he's from Fairfield County too and graduated from a high school in Westport, Connecticut.

I would agree with this. The speech just wasn't that impressive. Wouldn't have really bothered me if he hadn't gotten the standing ovation. It was partially redeemed, though, when Matthew failed to win the scholarship. I did enjoy his pre-speech ecstacy high jinks.

That Ebert review is pretty shocking. He's my favorite critic but sometimes I think his reviews are from out of left field. There's nothing about about Girl Next Door that warrants half a star. Its actually somewhat tame content-wise from other teen comedies and has a lot more heart. I'm not sure what movie he saw. Of the four new releases this weekend, Girl is the only one with a positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Really enjoyed this movie, did anyone else think Tim Olyphant looked like a dark-haried Ryan Seacrest in this flick?

Actually, I thought he was Josh Duhamel (Danny on "Las Vegas" on NBC) before I saw the credits and remembered him from "Go".

This will very likely be on my top 10 list for 2004. Very annoying that it is not doing better at the b.o.

Thought Chris Marquette ("Eli Brooks") was terrif. "I just wanna bang hot chicks!" "What would JFK do? You know he'd tap that ass."

Anyone bought the s'track and have any comments on songs featured in the film that are conspicuously absent from the CD?

Hell no! I thought he was very cool in this film. His look, his attitude, his style... he just oozed coolness. In my opinion, Ryan Seacrest is a total douchebag.

Paul S., I agree. Marquette was great as well.

Heh, when I saw the trailer for "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton" I thought it starred Tim Olyphant but it turned out to be Josh Duhamel. There's definitely a resemblance there.
