Post thoughts here. I'm surprised no one has posted about it since it's release two days ago...I guess it's because we're all too busy listening to it?????

I'm reluctant to post my review just yet, as I haven't even received my "official" limited edition copy. (DAMN Radiant Records!) But I am definitely loving it. I don't think I've listened to any CD other than that in the last three weeks.

I just finished listening to the first disc. I really like all the songs here. Standout tracks for me are "Devil's got my throat", "Wind at my back" and especially "Solitary Soul" which is awesome.

I will have to listen to the second disc over the weekend.

I really like the packaging here, very cool.

'Devil's Got My Throat' is great...my only problem with it is the lyrics of the main chorus...

Devil's got my throat...
I'm going down that's all she wrote...

Just sounds kind of cheesy to me, especially coming from a band like SB.

Well, I've only listened to it once so far so I can't really give any detailed thoughts about it. I can say that Snow is more than I could have hoped for. It's seems absolutely amazing just on the surface and I know it's going to take many, many listens to really get into it. I am SO happy with this disc. Portnoy was right on the money.

BTW, wasn't there a movie a while back called 'Powder'? IIRC it was about a teenage boy who was bald with pure white skin and had some sort of electromagnetic powers. Jeff Goldblum was in it IIRC. Seems similar to Snow at some levels.

I haven't ordered the LE yet. Is it worth it?

"V" and "Kindness of Stangers" it ain't. But will listen some more. So far, I'm kind of disappointed.

If you want to flame me for it go ahead. Well, I can always hope Transatlantic's next disc will be as good as their first two were ...

Is there going to be another one? I haven't heard anyone saying something about that...

I'm still waiting for the LE to come in. Meanwhile, I just got the new Enchant, Nightwish, and Threshold CDs, which will tide me over just fine.

After one listen, this sounds like some classic Beard, just jacked up to a grand prog concept-album tastiness.

Their vocal arrangements are getting sweeter. Definitely a big Gentle Giant influence there.

I'm waiting until after I've listened to the album proper a few times before spinning the bonus disc.

I have Side One on today and it does sound like classic Spock's Beard. This one seems very grand in scale. They must have put tremendous work into this title.

I'll have to play it a few more times to see if it grows on me. Prog Rock always takes a few listens.

The packaging of the LE Edition is gorgeous. Reminds me of Pink Floyd's PULSE.

Prog On!
