A Paris-based friend indeed confirmed in board postings elsewhere that a French-dubbed print of the 1933 Monkey's Paw, in at least so-so quality, had surfaced over there, in the hands of a private owner. Scott/Mr. Lime was referring to the availability of an English-language print, which still seems to be somewhat non-existent -- though kudos to KINO for looking into it.

I'd be just fine with a DVD of the French-language print -- even sans sous-titres -- but won't hold my breath for such an event.

    Anyway, hope springs eternal...

He's not in the billing block - It's against ALL major studio rules to include any name on the front who's is not in the billing block. Non-studio releases are different.

Thank you MisterLime and Kino-Lorber for the forthcoming Hell in the Pacific...much wanted in HD, and for many years...I remember seeing it first run theatrical twice in '68...you almost wonder if something just like that actually played out in WW2 on some tiny South Pacific or Central Pacific Atoll...a tiny Atoll in the vast Pacific...two desperate combatants, who must combine to survive...with an impossibly powerful surf across the coral reefs to imprison them into starvation and thirst...and their struggle and fate unknown to us...For the Great Movie version of such a probable tale, Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune are Excellent...

Just to echo the praise for KL's 23 Paces to Baker Street, 1 Million Years B.C. and Deluge...Wow!

Nice! One of the few Hitchcock films I have yet to see. I remember reading that this was supposed to be much longer than it currently is. Any chance the missing footage turned up and will be included on this edition?

The Paradine Case. Sweet! Thanks to Kino another Hitchcock title can be deleted from the Blu want list. Nice work Scott! Looking forward to this and Kino's release of Lifeboat in about a month.

I am very excited to finally get The Paradine Case in high definition. Will be happy to give away my old DVD of it.

That is great news about The Paradine Case, MisterLime! Can you tell us what extra features to expect. Is anything being carried over from the MGM boxed set from 2008?

Cool! Another Hitchcock title. The only American period ones left are Mr & Mrs Smith, Stage Fright & Under Capricorn. The latter 2 could be considered 'British' since they were filmed there.

Hey Mr Lime - has there been any word on the Kino/ Scorpion Releasing release of The Apple? From what I recall it was suppose to come out around April, but I'm not finding preorders or new news.

The current schedule on the first page of this thread is regularly updated. No set date for THE APPLE, most likely in the Summer.

Love "The Paradine Case" orig. poster art, assuming this will be final cover art. I must say the young Mr. Peck's (fake) silver threads appear especially unreal in color.

Though a great many people in real life have/ have had grey hair at a fairly young age - comedian Steve Martin is a particularly famous example - until maybe the last 2-3 decades, it seems the makeup wizards often had trouble perfecting the young-and-grey look onscreen. It just tended to appear a bit too obvious on camera, no matter what, and especially in color (thankfully, TPC is in B&W). :)
