Screw that Scott, I'm counting 'em still. I need all the time I can get since I missed by about 10 films. :)
I did just watch Queen of the Damned (arghh) and have Blade 2 sitting in the house.
They count dammit. I will not be denied.
Oh, who cares really. No one's listening by this point anyway. :)

*Some of you may have completed the U.S.C., but I can't tell exactly. Jim_K for instance made his last post on the 28th just one shy of 31. If I've shortchanged you (or worse, accidently missed you completely) after all your effort, please let me know.

*Again, some of you may have completed the challenge, but I can't exactly tell, as your tallies aren't necessarily clear within your posts (Yeah, I'm lookin' at you, Paxton), or you haven't updated in a while. Lemme know if I've slighted you.
Anyhoo, this year's challenge was a smash success, the best one yet by a wide margin; easily the most participants we've ever had and the liveliest discussion. A big thank you to the newer members who participated for the first time, and those who returned yet again.

BTW, WRT a Christmas/Holiday Challenge ("The 12 Movies of Christmas (My True Love Gave to Me)" - I like it!), we'll see. If one of you dudes (Scott Weinberg, JohnS, or anyone) wanna start one, that'd be cool. I don't have a patent (yet) on movie challenges. :)

Sorry for not checkin' back with you, Mitty. I've been so busy lately, I'd actually forgotten to check back in and I had to think back at some of the titles I watched in the last couple of days to fill the quota...ended up going over by one, to my surprise. :)
My intended list and this final list are surprisingly different (I only got to view one of my three annual Halloween tradition movies...i'll save Black Christmas for Christmastime.) A couple of movies that I intended to buy, I ended up not buying and a couple of impulse buys also found their way on to my list. Also, the various horror marathons on TV helped me along (they had some great stuff on this year!) All channels should be applauded.
Anyway, here's my final tally.
1. The Dead Zone (ND)
2. Halloween II
3. Scream and Scream Again (ND)
4. Deranged (ND)
5. Motel Hell (ND)
6. Jason X
7. Jason Goes to Hell
8. Masque of the Red Death
9. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers
10. Shock Waves (ND)
11. Silence of the Lambs
12. Red Dragon (ND)
13. Suspiria
14. Halloween III: Season of the Witch
15. A Nightmare on Elm Street
16. Audition (ND)
17. The Ring (2002)(ND)
18. Ghost Ship (ND)
19. The Evil Dead
20. The Wolf Man
21. Sisters
22. Madman
23. Hellraiser
24. Last House on the Left
25. Empire of the Ants
26. The Exorcist
27. The Blair Witch Project
28. Christine
29. Invasion of the Body Snatchers
30. Halloween (tradition)
31. Friday the 13th Part 3
32. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
Final Tally = 32
Sorry for the late post!

I really had fun with this Halloween challenge.
next year I will accomplish alot more.
Maybe have the X-mas/holiday movie challenge run through Jan 1st, to include any New Years Eve type movies(i.e. 200 Cigarettes)
12 films watched(mostly first time)- x-mas movies standard
25 films watched(mostly first time)- ultimate challenge
too bad there aren't more x-mas movies like there are Halloween films.(unless I'm not thinking right, going to look on IMDB now)

For some reason I ended up spending a lot more time with other films during the month.

I did just catch Blade 2 which was not bad. Still, it represents yet another "horror" film that I saw that was really only action.

My list was:
In the Mouth of Madness
Prince of Darkness
* Red Dragon
* The Ring
* Queen of the Damned
* Blade 2
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Frankenstien
Se7en

4 new, 5 old

Not bad, but I easily watched 30 films this month, they just weren't horror. Couldn't catch the mood I guess.

I just wanted to pop in here and give thanks to Mitty. This challenge got me to watch many movies that I've been meaning to get to, but just never have. And I had a lot of fun doing it.
