Oddity (?), Nellie McKay's GET AWAY FROM ME CD has SACD style graphics, why?

Nowhere on the package does it say CD-G. Was this release going to be an SA-CD and got scaled back to a disco el compacto? It reads out just like an SACD on my player. Why?

I am not sure if it common Columbia practice, but my redbook copy of James Taylor October Road has track names which are displayed on my player. Of course there is also a sACD version of this album, so I don't know what that means.

Seeing how Sony has either been canceling announced SACD (Dylan Bootleg Series) or never releasing announced SaCD (John Mayer), I wouldn't be surprised if this disc was scheduled then cancelled somewhere along the line.

    Rachael,
I think what you are referring to is CD Text. All SACDs I've ever seen have it (although budget Sonys players only display the title). Some Sony CDs (Robinella & the CC String Band, for example) have it. My ES CD player even has a 'CD TEXT' icon on the front panel that lights up when CD text discs are playing. Also, you can burn CDs with CD Text in EZ CD Creator.
