When I was a child, I recall seeing a painting in an art book titled something along the lines of "Man, ruler of the universe" or "Man, master of creation", or some variant of the above. I remember being very impressed by the painting, but I'm unable to remember it fully, and since I cannot even remember the exact title, let alone who the artist was, finding it online has been next to impossible.

Does anyone have any idea what particular painting I'm looking for?

Was it with God and Man touching fingers?

This would be "creation of man" or "creation of Adam" by michaelangelo.

If that is it, you will find it on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel...

...and featured in this week's release of The Agony and The Ecstasy. [IMG]

That's kinda too popular to be forgotten [IMG]

The one I'm referring to features a single man (bald, I believe) sitting at... Something. A desk, a machine, something.

    How about this one:

What kind of bald man? Old? Young? Was the painting dark like this or bathed in light? Can you even guess the artistic period by century? What kind of media: oil, watercolor, charcoal, tapioca pudding?

Ricardo: I really want to help...but like Dennis says, it would help if you could give a little more detail--anything.

About the only thing I can rule out right now are dogs playing poker and Andy Warhol's Campbell Soup labels.

Here's Van Gogh's portrait of an old bald man sitting in a chair wondering "Where's my desk?" [IMG] Does that work?

Ricardo, a couple of guesses (but we really do need more info):

William Blake's picture of God reaching down from heaven with what look like a giant pair of golden protractors in his hand?

Saint Jerome in his study by Durer (black and white etching of bald guy at his desk in a study)
