Since this is being called "possibly the greatest cast ever assembled", is there such a thing as too many stars in a movie? Obviously I haven't seen this yet, but I somehow feel it might be too much, especially since these people, beside being good looking, are nothing alike IMO.
I know I am not doing a good job explaining this, but I feel like Brad Pitt and Matt Damon in the same movie looks strange because their styles are totally different. Throw in George Clooney and... I dunno, it just feels wrong. And to think they will be a team... this might create chemistry issues.
Anyone feels that I am talking out of my rear end? [IMG]

I guess it could be. I haven't gotten interested in this movie yet for some reason. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea. I do agree with you that Pitt and Damon clash in their styles. Completely different. I immediately noticed that when I downloaded the trailer yesterday.

As a rat pack lover, this has been my most anticipated movie of the year. (Stike that. I was more interested in that Edward Norton/DeNiro heist picture). I think/hope that the individuality will add to the overall effect of the film. Soderbergh can't be bad, can he?

I've been looking forward to this since it was announced. But it's not really the stars, I like the fact that Soderbergh is directing. He is my favorite and i'm sure he will keep my film needs satisfied.

As a huge fan of the original, I'm looking forward to seeing this to see how it stacks up. I have my doubts mainly because this cast was put together based on names and does not have the chemistry of the orginal. I've also got some problems with the interviews George Clooney gave when this was originally announced, during which he pretty severely bashed the original (he's changed his tune now). If you have so little respect for the original, I really have doubts on how well you can do a remake.

The chasting of OCEAN 11 works very well...

It is REAL fun watching these guys play together.

The film is another matter. The pacing lacks any real suspense or thrill. It pretty much comes out as just an ok movie....

It's the first time I have seem a film were i enjoyed just watching the actors play off each other. To bad that the film doesn't deliver.

    It's Cloony,Pitt & Matt Damon's comments on the 9-11 Charity

t.v. telethon that will keep away from this movie.

Well, the t.v. telethon was reported by Bill O'reiley to be not handying out all the money to the victims. Cloony, Pitt & Matt Damon said that O'reiley didn't have his facts straight that he was just making noise to get his t.v. show ratings. Then the regular media picked up on the story but didn't give O'reiley credit for breaking the story. And even to today 11/29 Jim Carrey was on Ohpera Winfrey had said that O'reiley was just not reporting the truth.
I know the stars met well but if the victems don't get the money and your a star and don't put presure on the Charity it's like you really didn't do much at all. They could have said that they were unaware that the money wasn't being reached to the families but instead they say that O'reiley's reports were wrong as they plug their movie OCEAN'S 11.[IMG]

I haven't seen the new treatment and frankly, just based on the trailers that I've seen, the whole concept leaves me VERY Cold, wondering just why I have to pay money to see it. It's definitely for the uninitiated who didn't see the original.

All I can see is Clooney, ahem, emoting and glaring and clenching his teeth like his shorts are too tight...I guess that's what's called acting these days...and Julia Roberts just sitting there learing ...I still don't know what she's supposed to be doing plot-wise, though I guess she's the Angy Dickinson role...the rest of the cast is so BLAH and faceless and personality-less, I truly fail to be impressed by ANY chemistry here as compared with the original.

It looks like they phoned in their performances!

The Rat Pack is dead, I know...but GOD if this is all they could come up with, it makes the original look like

    "Citizen Kane"!

Soderberg should start making original films, if he can, because ANYONE can do a remake...it takes Talent to make a total package work...and this just doesn't make it !

It looks like this is one of those Hollywood "you owe me a favor" movies, where a bunch of stars get together in one movie to help out a few stars who have had a string of bombs like Cloony, Brad Pitt with stars who will pack them in the theater like Julia Roberts in a minor role.[IMG]

Soderberg needs a rude awakening, as I can't see ANY director to continue to be making a career, solely, from films from non-original, already filmed sources.

Apparently he has sold someone in Hollywood...apparently with a small, Tv Generation brain...on the fact that the public wants these weak, limp-wristed films with NO Heart or Soul!

Chris, since you have seen the film, could you answer this question for me.....
Is the subplot dealing with the New York, New York hotel and casino blowing up gone from the film(as reports were saying during the week of 9/11)?

I will be seeing this movie the day it comes out (hopefully at 12:01am on Friday morning if everything works out well). I'm a fan of the original Ocean's 11 and I would like to see if Soderberg can do a good job at trying to be on par with the original film.
