A dynamic combination of comedy vignettes and visually attractive musical numbers, hosted by Alan Young.

Dec.20, Dec.23.1951
Stars Alan Young Frank Sinatra

The Alan Young Show from December 1951 with special guest Frank Sinatra, who does a comedy bit and sings Night and Day. This is an almost completely undocumented Sinatra performance. In fact, the only note I can find is this rather amusing logline from a newspaper of the day (recall this was pre "From Here to Eternity"):" FRANKIE BOY - The headline guest of the Alan Young show is the husband of luscious Ava Gardner, Frankie Sinatra." Aired on the east coast on December 20, 1951, and on the west coast on December 23, 1951.

This dramatic anthology series went into open syndication when the DuMont Television Network ceased operations.

S04E19 Getaway Car (Mar.29.1958) (Pilot)

Jeff Saunders is a Special Enforcement Agent with the California Highway Patrol, where percentage and luck are on their side. Writes Gary Goltz, “Highway Patrol staring Broderick Crawford was in its 3rd season, when CHP Commissioner Bernard Caldwell was replaced by Commissioner Bradford Crittenden. He wanted a more realistic depiction of the CHP then what was being presented on the ZIV syndicated TV series. This pilot which is sort of half way between CHiPs and Highway Patrol was hoped to be the answer. Unfortunately it was never picked-up and Highway Patrol continued its successful run another season. It would have gone on for a 5th year except that Broderick wanted a break coming back a few years later in King of Diamonds which only lasted 1 season. Mike Connors did this before 'Tightrope' and his hit series 'Mannix.”

A scout tells Evan that a huge wagon train is headed toward the same supply depot, making Evan worried that there won't be enough food for the people on his wagon train to avoid starvation on the rest of the journey to Oregon. The big wagon train tries to sabotage the wagons in Evan's troop but Evan manages to outsmart and outrace them. Meanwhile, there's a secondary plot involving Mariette Hartley and adultery.

Manhattan's 87th precinct forms the backdrop for this grim and gritty police drama based on the long-running series of novels by Ed McBain. Storylines focus on neighborhood crime, and the lives of the officers of the 87th and their families: Steve Carella and his deaf/mute wife, Teddy; rookie Bert Kling; long-time veteran Roger Havilland and the wryly philosophical Meyer Meyer.

S01E19 The Pigeon (Jan.29.1962)
Stars Robert Lansing Ron Harper Norman Fell Peter Falk Roxane Berard Frank Sutton Morgan Woodward Arthur Batanides Harlan Warde Nora Marlowe Marjorie Bennett Louise Lorimer E.J. André Richard Deacon Clark Howat Harry Swoger Isabelle Dwan Gregory Walcott

Acting on an anonymous tip, the detectives pick up Greg Brovane in connection with a robbery in which two men were killed. On interrogation, Brovane names three accomplices. However, the detectives can not find any information on any of the three accomplices. What they don't know is that Brovane is a patsy who was hypnotized and subjected to intense brainwashing by the actual perpetrators, and that the three accomplices he has named do not exist.

A young woman is found murdered in the liquor store she was working in as a clerk. Though it at first looks like a burglary, the detectives soon discount that theory and look into the girl's acquaintances, particularly as she was engaged in a custody battle with her ex-husband, and was romantically involved with her employer and hoping to marry him when he divorced his wife.

Unique cop series that can still be purchased here and here.

Well, I'm back.
I had a couple of requests to see some of my magic performance... well - I just published a small e-book for magicians. For those of you that would like to see me do a little something watch the trailer and you'll briefly see my magic hands.
This is not a sales pitch. Unless you're a performing magician this book is not intended for you. I just put it up so you could see some of my magic work and (hopefully) enjoy.

Mysto's Magic Book Trailer

Cheers - and thanks for keeping it going Neal.
