Neal, I would have never guessed that Warner owned stuff like The Lieutenant and Sam Benedict would be up on YT and not be stripped off as in previous years by Warner's legal eagles...I think The Lieutenant, in two volumes, was the very first Warner Archive series that I purchased, with many, many more to come...a lot of MGM TV and WB stuff that still is not streaming anywhere...

You gotta know that I'd take caps of the luscious Anne Helm in the feature film version of The Lieutenant's To Kill A Man from the WAC DVDS...these too racy for TV scenes were added to the original episode and released overseas theatrically...enjoy now, thank me later ha, ha...

The great James Shigeta and Greg Morris (later on Mission Impossible), Richard Evans, Paul Mantee (Robinson Crusoe On Mars!) and lovely Linda Ho and Irene Tsu are also in this quite good episode, the series finale...although I'm sure they wanted otherwise...Lieutenant Rice finally gets to Vietnam, although they call it the fictitious 'Han Ang'...

This is a dark and suspenseful episode of this long running series. Narrated by Burgess Meredith it is reminiscent of Naked City Season One and in fact aired the very same year, 1958. You gotta love it!

The Big Story (1949-1959) Stars Robert Sloane Ernest Chappell Ben Grauer

Based on a popular radio series, each show tells a different reporter's Big Story, a true story selected from newspapers across the United States. Comments from the actual reporter open and close each show but the permanent narrator drives the plot line and a featured actor dramatizes the reporter's role. Writes Barry I. Grauman 1 day ago: After 'THE BIG STORY" left NBC (as a "live" series) in 1957, a filmed syndicated version was produced for the 1957-'58 season by the same production company, with Burgess Meredith as host/narrator, lasting 39 episodes. Some of them were adapted from previous "live" scripts- including this one [originally produced in January 1954]; this version was syndicated in January 1958.

S9E17 Hit and Run (1958) Stars Burgess Meredith Allen Nourse Frank Marth Chris Kane Edward Holmes William Woodson Joan Christopher Alfred Hinckley Norman Fell

A drunk tries to evade capture after he hits a boy on a bike.

Biography (1961-1964) Stars Mike Wallace Charles A. Lindbergh Winston Churchill

A show that tells someone's life story every interesting episode at a time.

Babe Ruth (1962) Stars Mike Wallace Director Jack Haley Jr.

He is perhaps the greatest sports hero in American history. George Herman "Babe" Ruth, Jr., was more than just a ballplayer--he was a beloved public figure whose popularity at one time seemed to transcend that of baseball itself. Profane and earthy, "The Babe" had a warmth of spirit about him that both electrified and inspired the nation. In his lifetime, he set several Major League records-the most notable of which took place in 1927 when he hit a record-breaking 60 home runs in a single season. From his early childhood in Baltimore to the infamous 1919 sale by the Boston Red Sox to his glory years with the New York Yankees, BIOGRAPHY takes an in-depth look at the immortal slugger who swatted his way into the hearts of baseball fans forever.

Thanks very much for this rare find, Neal! I've been interested in this series since watching Maxwell Reed as an arrogant, abusive boxer that Hoss finally lays a smack down on in the terrific S2 Bonanza episode "The Duke" earlier this year.
Welcome Jeff. Ah yes "Bonanza" The Duke (1961)

Ginger Nutt's Christmas Circus (1949) Writers Reg Parlett (story) Pete Griffiths (story)
Squirrel Ginger is the ringmaster for an animal circus. A parrot has snuck in using a weasel's ticket; the weasel keeps trying to enter as well, but keeps getting thrown out. The parrot heckles, and is also thrown out. The weasel prepares to clobber the parrot, but a mole pops up with a "Peace on Earth" sign which the weasel smashes on the parrot.

The Captain is playing Santa; John and his henchmen stick him up and take over, but John breaks all the toys. They go into town and sing, so badly that people throw things at them to get them to to stop.

Katnip, not in the true spirit of Christmas, is trying to break up a Christmas party of happy little mice. But the mice's big cousin, Herman aka Hoiman. shows up and, in the true spirit of Christmas, runs Katnip out of town.

Chip and Dale sneak into Donald Duck's house to steal his walnuts. Donald dresses as Santa Claus to have fun with the two thieving chipmunks, but ends up using the war toys underneath the Christmas tree to do battle with them.
