Sunday Ticket has given DirecTV a monopoly in the sports world. Find a sports bar that doesn't have DirecTV.

Competition is a good thing, hopefully Sunday Ticket becomes available on digital cable soon.

I recently watched a little bit of Chat with Charlie on Dish Network and they mentioned that Directv is in the last year of its conctract with the NFL for Sunday Ticket.
I'm sure the NFL would love to get it's fingers in both the cable market and digital satellite networks.
Having switched from Directv to Dish and hoping the merger would go through before football season started, my hopes are being dashed quickly after reading the following article.
    DOJ against Dish/Directv merger

The Justice Department needs to go fight crime and leave business alone.

The real competition for satellite is cable, and Charlie has agreed to flat nationwide pricing, which would ensure that they couldn't gouge the markets with a bad (or no) cable presence.

Vertical integration (like NEWS buying DirecTV) is more scary, IMO.
