    From Alan Sepinwal's Great Site:

" ...20th Century Fox's home video division will release the first season of "NYPD Blue" as a DVD set sometime in the fall, most likely October. Assuming it's as popular

as other TV DVD sets have been, we could eventually see the entire series get collected this way. No more silly FX, Court TV or TNT edits, no more low-quality pictures, no more worrying about a particular episode getting skipped in the rerun cycle.

No word yet on what, if any, extra content the set will feature, but Bochco and Milch don't strike me as the type of people who would be interested in sitting around to

watch old episodes and record commentary tracks.

More news as I get it -- if I get it. "

Hey I'm there at least for the great first Season, which with it's self contained running story is perdect for DVD

    Can't Wait

Heh heh, get all the David Caruso episodes before he flushed his career down the toilet. Well, now that the obligatory David Caruso joke has been made, let the discussion begin. I'll let someone else make the Dennis Franz showing his ass joke.

I think it would be a good idea were Fox to bundle the few (two?) Caruso eps in season 2 with the season 1 set. The first season had much more rewatchability to it IMHO than the rest of the series, which became much less story-arc and mob-oriented. But I find it hard to motivate a purchase of the first season given that I might not buy the second which in just a handful of episodes quickly wraps up everything and gets Caruso out the door...

By the way, he's signed on for the CSI: Miami pilot and show...

I don't think it would be a good idea to put S2 eps in a S1 box set. But it won't matter to me. I won't be buying until the current season that is airing comes out [IMG]

Quick question: What is the OAR?

Were all seasons shot on film and composed 1.85:1?

I have the feling it'll be alot like X Files with the early seasons being 4x3 and the later seasons being widescreen. Now whether they'll release the later eps widescreen is dependant on what value they place on the series. Obviously X Files they care. I Hope WS frankly 4x3 look awful on my WS set
