I have it on good authority that Nuera Acoustics has sold out to a Vancouver, B.C. (near Granville Island) based speaker company. Transition takes place this Thursday. It's quite likely prices on Tangband products in North America are about to take a big jump.

Yep. The other issue is that all the kits that are based on TB drivers will see price increases as well.

Nuera Acoustics is just a distributor. there are several others that also sell Tang Band. are their prices going up too?

I know that Creative Sound, RAW Acoustics and GR Research used to buy through Nuera (now called Acoustic Technologies). Other than Parts Express I think they're the only ones. If AT raises prices then the others will go up accordingly. As for PE who knows? But PE doesn't carry the very popular W3-871S for one.

I've been buying TB drivers from them for a while, as has Brian. Nuera had a lot of control over which TB drivers were sold in the U.S. We'll see if the sky really is falling. If so, there are lots of driver mfgrs out there.

I don't think the sky is falling, just some concern over pricing. There's always concern with a change like this and the people that were purchasing for their kits now have to re-negotiate. I bought 6 W4s just in case, even though I was planning on getting them anyway.

mmmm rumors of price jump and sales jump, how nice, how convenient.

with a company changing hands why do you think prices will jump? hell maybe they want to compete with PE and they will lower the prices

True, change doesn't mean it has to be bad.
