A screwed-up home theater? If you take away just the crappy monitor, it's no longer a home theater.

The no smoking sign is funny. All the bass would smoke the eardrums out of the ears anyway (and maybe bin Laden).

The text also says the system hasn't changed since 1984. What were 18" drivers capable of in 1984. From my DIY sub reading I was under the impression that sub of that era were not all that capable. That it would take several of those 18" drivers to equal one of todays better 15" drivers. So even though it looks increadibly impressive I would think that a single BluePrint 1803 could give all those drivers combined a run for their money in bass output. The other thing I noticed, isn't his tweeter placment a little high?
all the bass drivers he has used are for concert speakers

I have a friend (who I have not seen in awhile) that builds concert speakers and we used to rattle the walls and roof of a 5000 sq ft warehouse with just 2 sub boxes with twin 15 inch drivers like the ones this guy has shown

It helps to have about 2000 watts going to each driver and ported boxes tuned for each driver

I am still amazed to this day we did not shatter any of the windows in the warehouse

Whether they are pro drivers or not it still comes down to displacement for how loud they can get.

EVM-18B Pro-Line FS- 33hz Xmax- 3.3mm SD- 1140 cm^2

Altec 3182 FS- 18hz Xmax- 12.7mm SD- 1142 cm^2

Altec 3184 FS- 24hz Xmax- 6.4mm SD- 1142 cm^2

So that would give Vd values for the drivers as follows:

EVM-18B Pro-Line - 0.75L

Altec 3182 - 2.9L

Altec 3184 - 1.46L

A BluePrint 1803 can displace 6.2L. So it would take just over 2 of the Altec 3182 drivers to match a BP1803, it would take 4.25 of the 3184 drivers to match a single BP1803 and it would take 8.25 of the EVM drivers to equal one BP1803.

The Altec 3182 would only slightly outperform an Adire Audio Tempest.

Given the crossover points he mentions, I would think a pair of BP1803 drivers could match or come very close to matching the output of all of those drivers.
