Hi all,

Now that I have built my sub I need some help testing it.

Is there any sites that explain the testing process ?

how to set up the sub in a HT system ?

how to use the ratshack spl meter for this ?

where to put the meter ?

what volume levels ?

how to break in a new speaker ?

what tones ?

Hope this is not too much to ask but I have already blown up one driver with no knowledge and am a little wary about cranking it up again

Warrick,
Have you checked out Sonnie Parker's excellent BFD site yet? I thought I'd check to see if I needed a parametric equalizer to smooth out my subs room response so I read through Sonnie's BFD guide. He explains the testing procedure and has a link where you can find test tones. He even has a link to a spreadsheet which automatically corrects the values obtained with the Radioshack meter. I used the info I got there to test my sub prior to buying a BFD. I found I didn't really need one.
Check it out at:
