I have an old Nokia Free2Go (prepaid cellular) system from ATT that has been inactive since last summer. Does anybody else have one and do you know if it will still work under Cingular now? I am going to stop by an Cingular Wireless store and inquire but wondering if it will work or not before I go try to add minutes...

As long as it has a sim chip, it should work.

Not knowing what a "sim chip" is, I can say that I can still dial 611 which is a free call directly to ATT now I guess Cingular that allows me to add minutes via my phone. So I know the phone still "works". I was told that I wouldn't be able to convert it to a regular postpaid phone though but that is not my intent anyway.

    Thanks,
    Jay

I was with ATT and decided to renew my contract with Cingular. I can't use my ATT phone with the Cingular plan because the sim cards are different. I did get an "under-the-table hint" that I can get it unlocked and will be able to use it with any provider. I haven't yet done this, but plan to sooner than later.
