Anderson has been saying this for a while. It's one of the reason why Agent Reyes was introduced last season.

According to the article over at digitally obsessed, This is Scully's last season and Mulder may make a cameo or two. I think they should just end it. They will never have the quallity of show with Doggett and reyes.

I'm already planning to stop buying X-Files at the end of Season 6 because that's when the show flushed. Nothing against the quality of the disc, but when the conspiricy died, so did my interest in the show

quote: Duchovny has given interview after interview saying he won't do it. OTOH, given that his film career to date has been lackluster, maybe he'll reconsider. [/quote]
I read some where that he may consider doing a cameo or two if the script was right. This can just last week but I can't remember the source. I'll dig around and see if I can come up with it.

The article about DD doing cameos was at tvguide.com. I couldn't find it but there is a discussion about it on a Cinescape xfiles msg board. http://64.70.23.6/x-files/ubb/Forum22/HTML/001311.html
I personally hope he doesn't come back unless maybe on the SERIES finale as a set up to a movie or something. I do hope they come up with some good explanation as to where he is and don't just totally ignore the fact that he's gone.
GA's manager is saying that it isn't TOTALLY definite that she's not coming back after next year but from that UK article she seems very done with the show.

Whatever happened to that, "we'll end the series and then start a movie franchise" idea? Did 1998's movie do that badly? I was actually eager for the day when they'd hit the bigscreen some more.

I think the goal at the time was to do films as an extension of the continuing series. Perhaps they saw Paramount's masterful handling of the Star Trek Next-Gen series/films. [IMG]
